Drupal 5 and earlier theme guide

This guide discusses theming for Drupal 5 and earlier. A new Drupal 6 theme guide is also available.

An important note: when creating a new theme, you must be sure that the name of the theme is not the same as the name of any module being used on the site because the function names may collide and your site may no longer function correctly.
